Savantly respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. This policy explains how we handle copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe your copyright has been infringed on Savantly, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice.
2.1 Required Information
Your DMCA notice must include the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work: Describe the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notification, provide a representative list.
- Identification of the infringing material: Provide the URL(s) or specific location of the material you claim is infringing. Provide enough information to allow us to locate the material.
- Your contact information: Include your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith statement: Include the following statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- Accuracy statement: Include the following statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner, or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
- Signature: Provide your physical or electronic signature.

2.3 Sample DMCA Notice

3. What Happens After We Receive Your Notice
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Review the notice for completeness
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
- Notify the user who posted the material
- Provide the user with a copy of your notice (including your contact information)
- Take appropriate action against repeat infringers
Timeline: We typically respond to valid DMCA notices within 2-5 business days.
4. Counter-Notices
If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice.
4.1 Filing a Counter-Notice
Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice

4.3 What Happens After We Receive a Counter-Notice
Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will:
- Forward the counter-notice to the original complainant
- Inform them that we will restore the content in 10-14 business days
- Restore the content unless the complainant files a court action seeking to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
Savantly has a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers.
- First Offense: Content removed, user notified, warning issued
- Second Offense: Content removed, temporary suspension (7-30 days)
- Third Offense: Permanent account termination
Note: Severe infringements may result in immediate termination without prior warnings.
6. False Claims
⚠️ Warning
Filing a false or fraudulent DMCA notice is a violation of federal law. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
Savantly may take action against users who file false claims, including:
- Refusing to process future notices from the sender
- Reporting false claims to appropriate authorities
- Seeking legal remedies for abuse of the DMCA process
